Feyenoord Stadium Rotterdam 

The new stadium of Feyenoord, an iconic landmark at the Maas, Rotterdam, will be the largest football stadium in the Netherlands, hosting approximately 63,000 spectators, and will form part of 'Feyenoord City': a state of the art development of the surrounding neighbourhood.

The real estate finance team advised New Century REIT in respect of the financing of the acquisition of the Holiday Inn Hotel in Eindhoven. The company is the first China-based hotel REIT in the world and is now investing in a diversified portfolio of fixed income-producing real estate globally.

The acquisition of the Holiday Inn in Eindhoven is the first acquisition outside of Hong Kong and Mainland China by a Hong Kong REIT.

Holiday Inn

The Real Estate Finance team advised Goldman Sachs Bank US on the bridging facility for the financing of the new, multi-purpose, 63,000 seat stadium of footballclub Feyenoord situated in Rotterdam. This transaction involved a lot of media attention and complex negotiations with the municipality of Rotterdam.

Maastoren

The real estate finance team advised our client on the EUR 115,000,000 financing of the acquisition of the Maastoren and assisted with the accession of a second lender. This transaction involved a complex structuring of the deed of mortgage as both lenders were German Pfandbriefbanken with specific legal requirements as to the ranking and enforcement of securities.

The Maastoren is the tallest building in the Netherlands (164 meters/541 feet). The office building is situated on the bank of the Nieuwe Maas in Rotterdam, after which the building is named and has a total of 44 above ground floors and two underground floors.

The real estate finance team advised Aareal Bank on the provision of a complex debt facility of up to €800m with a five-year term to certain funds affiliated with Apollo Global Management LLC, (NYSE:APO) for the financing of a pan-European portfolio of logistics properties. Under high time pressure, Aareal was assisted by our real estate finance teams in the Netherlands, Germany, Luxembourg, Poland and Slovakia.
